Boiler #10 Replacement Project

Back to case studies

Ausenco designed, engineered and provided installation assistance for a 150,000 lbs/hr boiler at 300 psig steam. Ausenco worked closely with CCRL staff to replace the old dual fuel boiler package.

The new boiler package is a dual drive combustion fan boiler complete with flue gas recycle. The 300 psig steam system was required to operate the main boiler feed water pump for the boilerhouse and equipment in the gasoline desulphurisation, Penex, and deisopentaniser units.

Laser scanning technology provided accurate geospatial data for use in the design. Multi-discipline engineering services were provided for this challenging, complex installation into the existing fifty-year-old boilerhouse.

Project highlights:

  • engineering and procurement services for the boiler installation
  • effectively coordinated vendor information for the integrated team
  • provided on-site construction support
  • utilised laser scanning technology to provide accurate geospatial data of existing facilities
  • challenging, complex project that met the client’s expectations.
