Upstream, midstream and downstream projects all face unique challenges. We have the knowledge and the ability to provide specialist process engineering services, including detailed EPCM services, to the upstream and midstream gas processing market.

Experienced in plant and installation safety, reliability and availability, our Ausenco team of experts provides conventional plant and process engineering services that focus on safety and efficiency issues. This is complemented by our technical consultancy service, implementing improvements in energy, flow measurement, emissions and production systems.

Our engineers are skilled in two types of midstream operations: natural gas processing and off-gas processing.

Gas processing

Ausenco’s experience supporting the operation of natural gas and upgrader off-gas processing facilities includes feed gas treatment, compression, a variety of turbo-expander cryogenic processes and product treatment. We also evaluate designs for new facilities.

Ausenco has successfully delivered hundreds of EPCM brownfield projects with some of the lowest fabrication and construction rework rates in the industry. Additionally we have completed a number of projects involving debottlenecking and facility expansions requiring numerous tie-ins, shutdown planning and infrastructure modifications for complex process units.

Our workforce is very knowledgeable of local requirements, governing codes and standards. Our extensive experience in executing brownfield projects positions us to provide excellence in service, quality and most importantly, added value.

NGL fractionation

Ausenco’s experience includes troubleshooting, debottlenecking and front-end design of new fractionation trains, as well as the only olefins fractionation train in Alberta, Canada.
