A team of volunteers from Ausenco’s office in Vancouver, Canada, helped provide safe and affordable housing for low-income families by participating in a Habitat for Humanity Build Day on 26 April. The community giving initiative was made possible by a $5,000 donation made by the Ausenco Foundation. Habitat For Humanity makes housing accessible to low-income families by building homes using volunteer labour and donated materials. Eligible families are required to donate 500 volunteer hours and repay a no-interest, no down-payment mortgage with payments that are less than 30% of gross household income.
Ausenco has been selected as a finalist in the 2013 PACE Zenith Awards for our project ‘Expanding Gold Mine Processing Plant’ in the Mining, Minerals & Exploration category. The PACE Zenith Awards are presented by PACE magazine (Process and Control Engineering), the official magazine of the Institute of Instrumentation and Control Automation (IICA). Ausenco was nominated for our work on the control system for the Chatree Gold Mine Project in Thailand.
The project will provide next-generation remote terminal unit (RTU) control systems at 16 of the client’s high pressure gas facilities in the Las Vegas Valley, southern Nevada and northwest Arizona service areas. The stations provide gas metering, pressure regulation and odor injection for all of the natural gas used in these areas. Ausenco will assemble, program, deliver, test and commission the RTU systems.
