27 August, 2007

Ausenco was admitted into the Australian Export Awards Hall of Fame on Wednesday 22nd August 2007.

Zimi Meka commented that "Being accepted into the Australian Export Awards Hall of Fame is truly an honour for us. As a business we believe in passion, dedication and strong relationships with our partners – it is through this and our people that we have achieved our export success. In sharing a core set of values, the strength and pride of our people around the world, particularly to meeting the challenges of the environments that we work in and delivering constant innovation to our clients are essential to us delivering ongoing sustainable growth for the organisation".

Admission to the Export Hall of Fame has only been bestowed on four companies since the awards began in 1962 and is awarded to three-time export award winners for their consistently strong, global export performances. The Australian Export Awards celebrate the success of the many businesses that have contributed to Australia’s record-breaking export performance. Ausenco was presented the award by The Hon Warren Truss MP, Minister for Trade, at a dinner hosted by Austrade CEO Peter O’Byrne. The Minister praised Ausenco as an export champion who has made a substantial contribution to the industry in employment, innovation, entrepreneurship and to the Australian economy. Finalists in last year’s Awards generated more than $12.5 billion in export earnings and directly employed over 36,000 people.
"The 2006 Australian Export Awards’ winners represent some of our leading businesses and we are privileged to hear the insights of some into the winning strategies and pitfalls to watch out for on the road to international business success," Mr O’Byrne said.
Ausenco is a three-time winner of the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation Services Award, through specialising in the engineering, procurement and construction management of mineral processing plants and has experience in all aspects of project development. The company is managing the delivery of projects with an installed capital value of over US$2.8 billion covering the processing of minerals to produce gold, copper, nickel, silver, cobalt, lead, zinc, uranium and minerals sands.
