Ausenco Limited, an engineering and construction company, working on mining projects in far-flung reaches of the world including Tanzania and the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Laos has won the State Government's peak exporting award. Ausenco, which has former premier Wayne Goss as chairman, took the Exporter of the Year award after embarking on an overseas strategy that has almost doubled revenue in the past 18 months to between $80 and $100 million annually. The standard of competition was extremely high and Ausenco is thrilled by this prestigious Award that was presented by the Premier of Queensland, Peter Beattie. Ausenco is now qualified, to enter the 2002 National Australian Export Awards.
