Ascentis secures four-year contract with Matrix Metals

4 May, 2007

Ascentis Operations, a division of Ausenco, has been awarded a four-year contract with Matrix Metals for the operations and maintenance of their SX-EW plant on the Leichhardt Project located in North Queensland.

In addition to contract services, Ascentis’ role includes the provision of metallurgical, laboratory, operations and maintenance staff. An important factor in securing the contract was the ability of Ascentis to provide staff training for operational personnel to achieve formal qualifications.  This has been recognised as an effective strategy to overcome current skill shortages being experienced in the mining industry generally. Ascentis is a Registered Training Organisation in accordance with the Australian Quality Training Framework, certified by the Australian Government and mining industry bodies.

Ascentis delivers operating solutions to the global mineral processing industry. Current engagements include operating the continuous resin in pulp trials for BHP Billiton at Olympic Dam and providing operator and maintainer training to Minera San Gregorio in Uruguay. The company offers experienced personnel specialising in the provision of asset management services, process plant operations and maintenance, and related support services.
