23 August, 2007

Ausenco has been appointed to deliver the Didipio gold-copper project on an EPCM basis for leading producer OceanaGold Corporation.

The scope of work for the 2.5 million tonne per annum flotation plant includes the crushing and grinding circuits, associated infrastructure, site roads, site preparation, earthworks and other facilities. Ausenco is also responsible for procurement services for major equipment packages and materials required for construction and construction management of the processing plant, 800 person accommodation camp and site infrastructure.

The work follows the completion of the project development plan which was undertaken last year. The project will be carried out using Ausenco’s Manila office as a base. Key personnel are currently being mobilised to commence detailed design, procurement and project management, with the bulk of the staff comprising local Filipino personnel.

The Didipio project represents an important development not only for OceanaGold and the Philippines mining industry, but also for Ausenco’s continued expansion in the Asia region.
