Ausenco PSI (Pipeline Systems Incorporated) is currently looking for a Process Engineer to deliver process engineering in line with various project requirements.

Based in Concord, CA and reporting to the Manager - Process, you will:

  • Perform engineering duties in the planning, designing, construction, maintenance and alteration of structures and facilities related to pipelines while working under close supervision.
  • Assist in designing short and long distance slurry concentrate and tailings pipeline projects including in-house conceptual engineering to field project operation.
  • Assist in the design of pipeline hydraulics using several head loss calculation methodologies, and performing laboratory tests such as rheology testing, corrosion analysis, angle of slide evaluation and penetration tests. 
  • Perform capital and operational cost analysis for conceptual studies, support basic and detailed engineering for mineral concentrates, water and tailings pipelines, performing operator training, and assist in the supervision of the start-up/commissioning of new facilities.

As the ideal candidate you will be Bachelor’s degree qualified in Mining Engineering or Mineral Processing Engineering with 2 years of work experience in job offered or 2 years of work experience in a process engineering-related occupation.

1) Hydraulic Calculations for Slurry Piping and Pumps
2) Ore Beneficiation Process Design
3) Calculation of Mass Balances
4) Preparation of Process Flow Diagrams and Piping and Instrument Diagrams
5) Preparation of Process Documents
6) Preparation of Test Proposals
7) Preparation of Basic Operating and Capital Costs
8) Preparation of Equipment Specifications and Data Sheets. 

Experience may be gained concurrently.  Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
