Career development

At Ausenco we know that our commercial and technical success and our reputation for ingenuity are the direct results of the strength, diversity, creativity and expertise of our people.

We aim to empower our people through a strategy based on leadership, engagement and performance. We know that when we provide people with opportunities to lead and grow and we encourage, recognise and reward their outstanding performance, we will keep them engaged and improve the overall performance of our business.

Our focus on leadership development includes a number of key programs - Managing our Business; Management Development Program; and the Emerging Executive (EmEx) program.

These leadership programs are underpinned by other Ausenco programs targeting the development of our new professionals, the establishment of formal and informal communities of practice in various disciplines and a focus on all people achieving their development goals. These programs and activities are tailored to our various locations, but include "Lunch and Learn" sessions, online induction, e-Learning modules, language training and a Team Leader training series. Our people also have the opportunity to be supported through contributions to their external studies where those studies are relevant to their professional development.

Rewards & Recognition

Our people are our strength, so once they’re part of the team we do our best to keep them happy by recognising and rewarding them accordingly. Of course at Ausenco we maintain market-competitive remuneration levels monitored through regular external benchmarking, but that’s not all we do.

Depending on where in the world they work, our people have access to a range of non-monetary rewards and recognition programs. Our managers are encouraged to make recommendations to senior management when outstanding employee contributions are identified.

Our group-wide ‘Living the Values Awards’ program and annual CEO's Award recognise and reward individuals and teams who have demonstrated outstanding examples of living the Ausenco core values through their work.

Work/life balance

Ausenco is a diverse organisation. We operate in different countries, in different cultures and understand that our global teams are all different which is why we listen to our people and aim to offer them a safe, happy and productive work/life balance.

Flexible working
Wherever possible we try to offer our people a working schedule that suits them. Whether it is flexible hours, part-time or job-share working arrangements or even the occasional work from home day. Our global IT infrastructure allows us to be connected at any time of day and, in some circumstances, teleconferencing negates the need for tiresome travel.

Family time
Along with our flexible working arrangements we support a range of options, from paid paternal and adoption leave to unpaid career breaks, for our people to stay connected and involved with their families without hindering their career opportunities.

Social time
Due to the nature of the work we do, we know that sometimes there isn’t time to be sociable. But when there is time we like to make the most of it! From departmental drinks, to sporting events and even Gala occasions we encourage our people and their families to get involved with the Ausenco community.

Health and fitness
At Ausenco we know that healthy people make a healthy workforce. Depending on where you’re located you may have access to onsite gyms or fitness facilities. Healthy eating options and information on leading a healthy lifestyle are also readily available at Ausenco.
