Ausenco Sandwell's simulation experts modelled the entire coal supply chain including mine loadouts, 160 km rail line, and port.
Key metrics evaluated were:
- The throughput capacities of the mine, rail, and port operations
- Number of length of sidings
- Expected ship queuing
- Blending requirements at the mine
- The impact of major unplanned downtime.
The model included all operations from the run-of-mine stockpiles to the port and was based on extensive analysis of actual operating data.
