Transport options study for a potential mine in a remote location in Peru
Ausenco Sandwell completed a transport options study for a potential mine in a remote location. Four viable methods of transportation were examined: railroad, conveyor belt, slurry pipeline, and truck transportation.
The work included site reconnaissance of existing tracks, conceptual alignment design for a new rail spur to the proposed mine site, and development of capital and operating costs. The study recommended the best option based on technical, environmental, safety and commercial aspects.
