Through-the-ice offshore pipelay and permafrost foundations
Ausenco Sandwell designed the foundation and supports for various drilling and onshore and offshore production facilities. The concrete spread footings and deep steel pile foundations were designed to resist permafrost conditions.
Ausenco Sandwell also designed and supervised the construction of the winter ice road. This road was used both for through-the-ice pipelay operations and for transport of materials to the offshore island. Ausenco Sandwell’s is currently working on this project.
