Ausenco Sandwell provided conceptual engineering studies and an appropriation grade capital cost estimate for the planned expansion of the bleached kraft pulp mill at Grande Prairie from 285,000 t/a to 550,000 t/a of softwood bleached kraft pulp.

The study included the addition of a new production line and related facilities, increased chemical recovery capacity of the existing mill, as well as modification to the existing mill to meet current and future environmental regulations.

Schedules were developed for each work area to include engineering and procurement of all major equipment packages. Constructability was reviewed and durations and logic determined. Tie-ins and interfaces were identified between work areas. The schedules were developed using Timeline software. Also Included were additional costs for the production of hardwood pulp.
