Ausenco Sandwell provided a capital cost estimate, engineering, and detailed design for this greenfield OCC-to-lightweight linerboard mill based on the specialty mini-mill concept. This mill produces 400 TPD of high-quality linerboard from OCC furnish. The objective of mini-mills is to manufacture a clean product that is of high quality at a moderate production rate, while keeping down the initial capital cost. Some of the design issues include building size, space for future equipment, and warehouse size for storage.

Mini-mills help meet the growing demand for recycled content in linerboard products as well as the demand for improved environmental controls. Ausenco Sandwell has designed more mini-mills than any other North American firm.
