Major container terminal redevelopment with minimal interruptions to operations
The Centerm redevelopment, which was implemented while keeping the terminal operating, doubled its capacity from 400,000 to almost 800,000 TEU on a 73 acre site and significantly improved the efficiency of the container handling operations. Centerm has one of the highest throughput capacity per working acre in North America.
All work was completed on schedule, without interruptions to the container terminal operations. This was achieved through careful planning of construction activities and careful monitoring of stringent safety measures.
