British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) retained Ausenco Sandwell on an ongoing basis to renovate or expand existing facilities on the Burnaby Campus. New offices, involving some 15,000 SF were provided for the School of Health, Renewable Resources, Safety and Security, Placement, Student Records, Admissions and Registrations, and Occupational Health. An extension was added to the existing Civil/Structural Lab. Ausenco Sandwell as the prime consultant coordinated the architectural subconsultant, and provided all structural, seismic, civil, electrical, mechanical detailed design services, project management and contract administration, and construction field services for all projects. Key issues included accommodating all the specific user requirements and carrying out the construction within a fully operating teaching facility.
