- Location:
- Vancouver, BC, Canada
Ausenco Sandwell did the preliminary and detailed design for the SkyTrain Waterfront Station. This station forms the inbound terminus of SkyTrain. The main entrance is through the existing Canadian Pacific Railway Station, which is classified as a heritage building. Direct access is provided to the Sea-Bus Terminal and to the Canada Harbour Place Convention Centre and Cruise Ship Terminal. The station platform, 80 metres in length, is located adjacent to the CPR rail yard and under the existing Granville Square office complex. The East Concourse Building is a three-storey steel-framed structure with large windows and skylights incorporated in the design to enhance internal lighting and to provide views of the north shore mountains. The SkyTrain line west of the station in Section A is at-grade along the harbour waterfront in central Vancouver and was designed in conjunction with other concurrent major urban developments and elevated roadways in the area.
