Enterprise Optimisation
Using advanced proprietary software and an integrated methodology incorporating intellectual property and 25 years of know-how, we can examine and challenge conventional thinking about how to best run each mining or minerals processing business.
Enterprise Optimisation provides our mining and minerals processing clients with a mechanism to fully optimise any part or indeed their full operation, regardless of scale or complexity. Maximum value can be yielded from both existing operations as well as new projects.
Demonstrated results show creative solutions that dynamically harmonise flexibility in all parts of the operation to maximise value - typically yielding robust solutions with a 5% to 35% increase in Net Present Value (NPV) and potentially more.
Enterprise Optimisation allows the client to examine simultaneously the decisions to be made for:
- Pit shapes
- Phase selection
- Mining schedules – where and at what rate to mine (pit and/or underground)
- Cut-off grade and blending – what to discard, stockpile or process
- Stockpile recovery
- Processing path and/or plant operating strategy
- Product specification, mix and timing
- Logistics configuration
- Capital sizing of all steps in the value chain.
The result is a long-term plan with significantly improved cash flow profile – reducing risk and creating options for the client.
Enterprise Optimisation can be performed using set views of the future or multiple simulations of (for example):
- Metal and commodity prices
- Geological resource models
- Probability distributions of metallurgical recoveries
- Profiles
- Costs.
The ability to model potential future scenarios and simulate how a responsive organisation can mitigate threats and capitalise on opportunities gives new insights into the potential of a mining/minerals/metals business.
Ausenco’s Enterprise Optimisation services are available worldwide through a global agreement with Whittle Consulting. Together we have the expertise, personnel and geographical reach to deliver an Enterprise Optimisation study of any scale wherever it is required.
An Enterprise Optimisation study typically takes between three and 12 weeks to complete, depending on scope and complexity - small investment leading to significant gains in enterprise value.
