The Opportunity

We are now looking for suitably qualified and experienced professionals who are interested in joining our new Shared Business Services team based in Subang Jaya, Malaysia. The successful applicants will be part of a start-up team within an established global business. The new Malaysia team will work closely with small teams in Brisbane, Australia; Vancouver, Canada; and Santiago, Chile to deliver the key finance and personnel services.

Detailed Description

The Payroll Officer will be responsible for assisting the Payroll Process Manager to process salaries and wages in the payroll system to ensure high levels of accuracy and timeliness.

The key areas of accountability include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assisting with the setup and maintenance of employee records, entering timesheets, leave and expense claims into the payroll system
  • Assist with the process of one-off, or irregular payments including separations, bonuses, leave payments, back pays and pre-payments
  • Provision of customer services to external and internal clients regarding payroll practices and procedures
  • Assisting with the maintenance and filing of all payroll information by ensuring that filing is completed.

Desired skills and experience

For the opportunity to be part of this exciting new team, your attributes and accomplishments will include:

  • Diploma in Accounting/Business Administration/Human Resources/Economics and/or pursuing a professional accounting designation is desirable
  • Proven experience in a previous payroll officer position
  • Knowledge of book-keeping and maintaining ledgers
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
