Brad Shaw

President, APAC Africa

Brad is Ausenco's President APAC Africa region and a Senior Executive with 20+ years experience in engineering, procurement and construction projects across 4 continents.

Brad brings his extensive experience to the management of Ausenco’s APAC/Africa region. As President of the region, Brad has P&L responsibility for consulting, studies, project delivery and operations and maintenance service offerings across Australia, Asia, Africa, parts of Europe and the Middle East. He is also a Board Member of Kramer Ausenco. 

Brad's sector experience includes:

  • Minerals - gold, copper, lithium, coal, iron ore
  • Oil and gas - upstream, downstream, midstream, LNG, offshore, town gas
  • Power - coal fired, waste to energy, networks and distribution
  • Infrastructure/industrials - rail, rolling stock, environmental, ports and terminals, simulation/advance analysis.

He has worked across all project phases including scoping, feasibility, FEED, detailed design, project delivery, operations and maintenance and capital program management. He also has experience in internal audit, risk assessments and business improvement as well as a range of contract types including EPC, EPCM, risk/reward, alliancing, joint venture, equity and lump sum turn key.

Brad previously worked for WorleyParsons for 17+ years on a range of projects including large industrial facilities Loy Yang Power Station (Victoria, Australia), the Mobil Altona Refinery (Victoria, Australia) and BHP Billiton’s iron ore plant in Port Headland (Western Australia). Immediately prior to joining Ausenco he was Location Director, Singapore, Vietnam and the Philippines based in Singapore, and prior to that Location Manager, Victoria, based in Melbourne.

Prior to joining Ausenco, where his focus has been primarily in the minerals and metals sector, Brad's technical and project management experience was based in upstream and downstream hydrocarbons as well as mining and power generation in long term integrated services relationships. It included field based roles in construction management, site safety leadership, quality assurance/control, materials management, expediting and field engineering.

Brad is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with experience in pipe stressing, pressure vessel design and rotating equipment and has previously reached Level 6, Master Project Director level, Australian Institute of Project Management.

Having this broad base of project experience has helped Brad deliver value to customers as a project manager and contract manager, managing several relationships to deliver a portfolio of capital projects. In the last 10 years, Brad has performed senior executive leadership roles. He has led multi-industry teams in sectors such as geosciences, advanced analysis, power, chemicals, mining, transportation and hydrocarbons across multiple locations.

His ability to set a high standard of safety leadership, developing and implementing strategy, focusing on operational excellence and employee engagement has been central to delivering successful business outcomes.
