Rosemont is a copper development project, located in Pima County, Arizona, approximately 30 miles southeast of Tucson. Ausenco has been working with Hudbay Minerals on the Rosemont Project since 2015; through value engineering and detailed feasibility study phases, proceeding to full EPCM development of the processing facilities, site infrastructure and tailings facilities. Project duration is expected to last from Q2 2019 to Q2 2022.
Rosemont will be the 3rd largest copper mine in the USA, accounting for 10% of domestic annual copper production, and has an expected 19-year mine life. The Project has recently completed a 10 year permitting process and will be one of the most environmentally sensitive and advanced operations ever permitted in the United States, including the largest dry stack tailings facility of its kind in the world. The processing plant will produce copper and molybdenum concentrates by a process that includes; crushing, grinding, flotation, concentrate handling, and filtration and dry-stacking of the tailings residue.
Ausenco is an exciting, global organisation with a history of attracting visionary people who embrace challenges and discover innovative solutions to each and every project. The Rosemont project will be another great opportunity to be part of a recognized team of engineers and specialists with experience on similar projects around the globe.
