Simon is a Project Manager with a broad portfolio of project management, contract/procurement management, commercial management, construction management, and mechanical/industrial engineering experience in the mining industry. At Ausenco, Simon has held management positions for major projects including the Kestrel Coal Mine Extension, the Constancia Copper Project, the Cadia East Gold Project, and most recently, the Las Bambas 3rd Ball Mill Expansion Project.
As a Project Manager for the Las Bambas project, he is responsible for the feasibility study and detailed engineering for the installation of the 3rd ball mill. Additionally, he leads project teams in delivering engineering, economic assessment, and safety guidance services to ensure that the project is designed optimally, safely, and within its allocated budget.
Simon is a member of the Australian Institute of Steel (AIS), participating in regular forums, presentations, and offering his insight to fellow industry professionals in Australia. His involvement with the institution along with his background in commercial management offers him a considerable amount of commercial knowledge and ability to effectively manage and ensure compliance with business standards/practices of Ausenco. Bringing his background in both fields, Simon consistently delivers a commercial and construction perspective to his project while managing internal and external stakeholders.
